Overdue taxes from highway robbery in Woodford

We’ve been your local accountants in South Woodford for several years now, but before we were sorting out your tax, PAYE and VAT, some local people failed to declare their earnings and ended up in trouble with the police.  One local lad who really could have used our services was Dick Turpin.  Apparently failing to make a good enough living from his butcher’s shop in Buckhurst Hill, he became part of an Essex gang notorious for burgling homes around Woodford and Loughton.  He wouldn’t have needed to do that if we’d given him some strategic planning advice.

He needed an accountant in Woodford!

He needed an accountant in Woodford!

He became well known for his career robbing people on the streets, and a pre-CCTV/Facebook/Twitter search ensued.   Reliant on the Woodford and City press for info, the London Gazette described him as a tall, fresh-coloured man, very much marked with the small pox, about 26 years of age, five feet nine inches high, wearing a blue grey coat and a natural wig.

If you happen to spot him, alive and well (just like Elvis), give him our number.  We’ll help him with his long overdue tax!

Our bookkeeping system lets YOU explore the Great Barrier Reef

GoogleMaps has released its panorama footage of life under the sea.  If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out – it’s absolutely amazing!!  You can dive in and explore the Great Barrier Reef, hang out with sharks and dolphins, or simply meander along behind a manta ray, admiring the corals and shipwrecks.

We think this might be a member of our team. Not sure who the girl is though…

What’s that you say? You don’t have time for all that because you’re busy sorting out your accounts? Well, let n-books take the stress out of it.  Our simple-to-use bookkeeping package will do the hard work for you, so you can put your flippers on and dive back into the ocean.  Invoicing, VAT, expenditure, creditors, debtors, audit trails and so much more… leaving you time for a quick snorkel before the sun sets.  Ask us about it today.

Ps – if you haven’t seen it, why not?  We tweeted about it!! Are you not following us?? Here we are: @NordensAccounts.

Mum returning to work?

The kids are back at school today – Yaay!!  So this is the time that mums start thinking about setting up a small business, either to fit in with school hours, or because the children drove them so bonkers over the holiday that they now want to work full time!

Woodford mumsneed accountants

If that’s you, we can advise on all you need to know about starting your own business: tax, VAT, payroll (even if it’s just paying you), invoicing, overheads…  In fact, all things accountancy!  So whatever you’re planning to do next, call us for a chat.  Or, if you’re around the Woodford/Wanstead/Ilford area, pop in for a coffee with Andy or Joe – they’ll set you on the right track.

Accountants at play

Tuesday’s golf day at Wanstead Golf Course was a HUGE success and we raised loads of much needed and well deserved dosh for Saint Francis Hospice, our charity of the year.  On Monday, we’ll tell you exactly how much as we’re still busy counting.

Thanks to everyone who came from all over London, Essex, Surrey and beyond to take part – playing, donating, eating lunch, bidding in the auction, pretending they couldn’t play because of bad backs – to all of you: THANKS!!

Not much accountancy work got done, obviously, but it was lovely to see so many happy clients, and well done for bringing the sunshine with you!!

So check back on Monday for the final figure…

Accountancy client – sizzling off the press

If you’ve never heard of Joseph V Sultana – you have now!!  We’re thrilled to be the accountants for this newly acclaimed author, and we’re happy to promote him here because he’s HOT right now!!  His new book Three of a Kind is the first in the series Unsceptred Isle.  We obviously can’t give away any secret plot details or exciting stuff, but we are allowed to tell you that he’ll soon be touring around signing copies in bookshops in London and – dare we hope – Wanstead and Woodford!

And a huge thank you to Joseph for the massive donation to our chosen charity – Saint Francis Hospice, that was really very much appreciated by us and by them: THANK YOU!
