Payroll Assistant

An opportunity has arisen to work in our enterprising and progressive accountancy practice where you will play a significant part in the payroll department.

Roles and Responsibilities 

* Process and submit weekly and monthly payroll, including statutory year end returns and P60s

* Deal with company’s payroll queries

* Maintain and update payroll data

* Enter variable overtime, commission and expense payments

* Liaise with Revenue and Customs, where necessary

* Issue P45s/P46s for all starters and leavers

* Chase businesses for missing information, where necessary

* Update all statutory payments as appropriate, such as SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP

* Process P11D for employee’s benefits

* Process pension contributions for automatic enrolment

* Any other payroll duties as required.

Key skill requirements

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Good understanding of MS Outlook, Excel and Word.

* Experience in PAYE is an advantage, however not essential, as training will be provided to the ideal candidate.

Tax Assistant

An opportunity has arisen to work in our enterprising and progressive accountancy practice where you will have exposure to a varied and interesting client portfolio and play a significant part in the development of the tax team.

Roles and Responsibilities 

* Assisting with the preparation and submission of Self-Assessment Tax Returns and computations

* Corporation Tax compliance matters

* Advising clients on tax liabilities

* Assisting clients with their tax compliance obligations

* Assisting in preparing P11Ds

* Review of coding notices

* Preparing property rental accounts

* Undertaking research into technical issues on advisory work and summarising findings

* Assist in providing tax advice and ad hoc assignments as they arise

* Developing strong working relationships with colleagues, clients and HMRC

* Working as part of a team and providing general assistance

* Administration tasks in order to meet filing deadlines

* Liaising with Accounts teams to ensure a high standard of client service

The ideal candidate

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Accuracy and attention to detail

* Professional and organised approach to work

* Practical experience with some working knowledge of personal tax and compliance work would be advantageous

* Practical experience of using software systems in the preparation of tax returns but not an absolute requirement

* Microsoft skills

* Flexible approach and enthusiastic team player

Study support will be provided for ATT and CTA exams

Client Service Assistant

An opportunity has arisen to work in our enterprising and progressive accountancy practice where you will play a significant part in the development of the client service team.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Client Services Coordinator Team supports the dedicated Accounts Department and relative teams in ensuring that all services are implemented and managed in accordance with client objectives and contracted services.

Main day to day responsibilities will include:

* Checking through client paperwork and liaising with the client on any missing information

* Booking client meetings on behalf of the Accounts Team

* Carrying out all AutoRec’ing and Receipt Banking for the Accounts Team

* Monitoring the Accounts Team’s timing sheets – including approval, review, reporting and maintaining the TSheets system

* Supporting the Co-ordinator in their role, job planning, raising invoices managing workflow/targets and productivity where necessary

* Working with our Off-Shore Team to provide them with accounts paperwork and information to prepare the accounts

The ideal candidate

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Professional and organised approach to work

* Good time management

* Self-motivated and proactive

* Microsoft skills

* Flexible approach and enthusiastic team player

* Accounts knowledge not necessary as training will be provided
